Marie-Jo Néau discovered the contemporary art of mosaics at the Maison de la Mosaïque in Paray-le-Monial in Saône-et-Loire. This experience immersed her in a world of shapes and colours that surpassed all her expectations. She drew inspiration from the tried and tested techniques of artists such as Paolo Racagni, Verdiano Marzi, Karin Ljunghorn and Giovanna Galli, but above all from Andrée Dumas, a mosaicist and volunteer teacher at the Maison de la Mosaïque.
The cycle, entitled 'Romanticism, music and literature', is the fruit of three years' work, reflection and discovery, enriched by the expert advice of Andrée Dumas. Marie-Jo Néau's exhibition offers a unique opportunity to discover her creations inspired by the great Romantic themes of music and literature. Her unique, original pieces, made from simple, noble materials, are sure to amaze you.
