A rural commune located on the hills of the Côte Chalonnaise (the northernmost in the territory and the
highest in altitude), Chatel-Moron offers beautiful panoramas over the valleys of the Saône, the Vaux and the Dheune. The commune, consisting of a village and three hamlets, has Gallo-Roman origins, as evidenced by a clearly visible fragment of a Gallo-Roman stele above the portal of the small Romanesque church used in the masonry of the building. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, Chatel-Moron offers beautiful hiking possibilities, such as the 9 km Balade Verte called the " Randonnée du château " (Château Walk).
