A cadole is an old vineyard hut, made of dry stone or masonry. Cadoles were mainly used by winegrowers to store tools, to keep an eye on the vines or to take shelter from bad weather.
Did you say murgers? These are low dry stone walls formed from stones removed from cultivated land.
Discover the cadoles in the south of the Côte Chalonnaise by following the footpaths. The cadoles are privately owned but you can easily admire them from the paths or roads. Present in the vineyards of the area, you will find them in other communes than Saules. So, are you ready to go hunting for cadoles?
