Fley is a small town consisting of the village of Fley, near the Roman road from Macon to Autun, built under Agrippa, and the hamlet of Rimont, built by the monks of the Cistercian abbey of Ferté-sur-Grosne in the 12th century. The church of Saint-Euverte de Fley dates from the 12th century. The Cistercian abbey of La Ferté-sur-Grosne had a priory in Fley. An older church would have preceded it in the Carolingian period.
