Le Tour du Chalonnais est une randonnée d’environ 200 km, pensée pour être parcourue sur plusieurs jours. Cet itinéraire en boucle propose une immersion complète dans la diversité des paysages et des ambiances du territoire chalonnais. Il alterne voies vertes, chemins ruraux, sentiers viticoles.

The Tour du Chalonnais is a hike of around 200 km, designed to be completed over several days. This circular route offers a complete immersion in the diversity of landscapes and atmospheres of the Chalonnais region. It alternates between greenways, country lanes, wine trails and village crossings, offering a sporting, cultural and contemplative experience.

Chalon-sur-Saône, starting point and heart of the region:
The route starts in Chalon-sur-Saône, a lively and welcoming city of art and history. The quays of the Saône, the old town centre and the many services available make it an ideal starting point for a long-distance tour. The town also makes it easy to prepare your departure or to split your itinerary into several sections.

Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, between rivers and a gentle flow:
Following the Saône, the route reaches Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, a charming town at the confluence of the Doubs and Saône rivers. This stage marks a transition to a more open landscape, punctuated by water, towpaths and a peaceful atmosphere conducive to walking.

The Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy's vineyards and hills:
The route then climbs into the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, an emblematic region shaped by the vine. Hikers wander between wine-growing hillsides, low stone walls, forests and typical villages. The panoramic views open out over the valleys and landscapes of Burgundy, offering a variety of particularly photogenic stages.

Buxy, in the heart of the vineyards :
A major stopover on this wine route, Buxy fully embodies the identity of the Côte Chalonnaise. Surrounded by vineyards and hills, the town is an ideal stopping-off point, with shops, accommodation and links to numerous secondary routes.

Sennecey-le-Grand, countryside and heritage :
The return journey is via Sennecey-le-Grand, through gentler landscapes combining agricultural plains, hedged farmland and built heritage. This final section offers a more leisurely walk before gradually returning to the Chalonnais area and completing the route.
