Saint-Boil

Located halfway between Buxy and Saint-Gengoux-le-National, on the D981, the village of Saint-Boil is crossed by the Route des Grands Vins and bordered by the Voie Verte.

Saint-Boil deserves more than a stopover and offers an ideal place to stay in order to explore the whole territory of the South Côte Chalonnaise. The Balade Verte "La Goutteuse" allows you to discover the village composed of many hamlets : Etiveau, Chaumois, La Plotte, Collonge, without forgetting a magnificent verdant area from which springs "La Goutteuse". Also discover the Viaduct of Crainseny, 246m long, with a curve of 400m in radius, 16 semicircular arches with 12m openings. It is without doubt the most important structure of the South Côte Chalonnaise region. The former railway line used to pass over it and the viaduct made it possible to connect Saint-Gengoux to Montchanin by crossing the Crainseny valley. There are several other points of interest: the Saint-Baudille church and its Romanesque bell tower, and, less known, a Gallo-Roman quarry discovered in 1971. Numerous calvaries and wash houses are to be found. Some craftspeople are also based in the village.
