Lieu de parachutage - Seconde Guerre mondiale

Since 2011, the Voluntary Resistance Fighters (CVR) of Saône-et-Loire have been working on a project to mark the former parachute drop sites of the Second World War to pay tribute to the men and women who took great risks to continue the fight against the enemy.

The parachute drops in Messey-sur-Grosne took place at the "Fouine" airfield on 29 July and 8 August 1944 (weapons) and on 27 August 1944 (men parachuted from the SAS: Special Air Service).

The totem pole was inaugurated on 31 January 2016.
