Known for housing one of the three cooperative wineries of the South Côte Chalonnaise, the village of
Genouilly offers landscapes of vineyards and gently undulating farmland, as well as the forest which leads, in the direction of Collonges-en-Charollais, to a geological point of interest, "La Mer de pierres" (The Sea of Stone), a truly impressive chaos of granite. The village is very active and has an amazing cultural centre "La Maison du Terroir" with activity rooms, a library and a hundred seat room where films are projected and shows are organized. Not to be missed in the flowery village are the Romanesque church, a stone bridge with four arches over the Guye, and the remains of charitable work such as a 16th century fountain reserved for lepers and an old leper colony.
