Le Chemin d'Assise

The road to Assisi (Italy)

This 1500 km long path, opened in 2005, connects Vézelay, the place where the first Franciscan settlement was established in France in the 13th century, to Assisi, the birthplace of Saint François, founder of the Franciscan order.

The route is marked by directional markers showing a black tau on an orange background topped by a white dove.
