Sainte Hélène

Sainte-Hélène has the particularity of being on a European axis road, the RCEA (or RN80), while having preserved its rural and quiet environment. It is in Sainte-Hélène that the river Guye has its source, near the lavoir de la Bonne Fontaine, before crossing all the territory of the South Côté Chalonnaise. In the gently undulating meadows, punctuated by a few forests, the herds of white cattle graze peacefully. This is the location of the Balade Verte called "Au coeur de la Guye" (in the heart of the Guye) which takes you along the country roads to discover beautiful landscapes. In the village, see the Romanesque church of Saint-Symphorien, remodeled in the 16th and 17th centuries, an old 18th century parish church renovated in 1997, and an old feudal chateau near the spring all making it an attractive and peaceful village.
